Update from the Filbrun family

Hi friends and family! We send our love to each one of our friends and family in the States. We have so many beautiful pictures to share of our life here in Cambodia, but one of the "costs" is missing our family and friends in the States. We are so grateful for this opportunity to live here in Cambodia for this season of our lives. Thankyou to each one of you who supports us financially, through emails, prayers and messages. We love you all and miss you often!

February was a quiet but busy month for our family. We enjoyed celebrating Valentines Day together. We picked up donuts and coffee and took them to the park. It was such a peaceful morning outside.

Britton set up a surprise Valentines date up on our rooftop. We have celebrated many Valentines together and look forward to many more if the Lord wills.

Monday mornings were spent in Svey Kong as a family. We enjoy having a chance to have a close connection with the locals through the morning Bible study.

Britton had a few slingshots made by some of our friends. These slingshots are specifically made for killing the field rats at night to grill the next day. They make a yummy snack for the locals.

Sweet sweet little girls at the Monday Bible Study.

Village views

This little cuties name is Soakna. She comes running when she sees us. We have known her since she was a baby.

These little neighbor girls always come running when they see us.
They do not come from a Christian family, but hopefully they will always feel welcomed to join worship.

Her Mother put makeup on her for Sunday worship :)
We have plenty of pictures of her. She definitely makes us smile.

Bible Study in Svey Kong. This family are new believers. We are inspired by their devotion and eagerness to join and be apart.

This month Britton has traveled to Sisapon, which is about a 2 hour moto drive from our home in Battambang, two to three days a week. Above is the Pastor and his wife of the Grace Brethren Church in Sisapon. Cambodia Impact is having a small home built for them beside the church. Britton is spending time with them making sure the house is being built properly and in accordance to what Cambodia Impact has in mind.

A small English class being taught at the church. Before the covid there were around forty students but now has reduced to a few students.

Construction is going along well.

While Britton is gone we keep to a strict homeschool routine. Our landlord recently put a metal roof structure on top of our house. We hung a few hammocks and have been enjoying a place to be outside in the shade. Hot season is upon us and so we know this will be a useful place for our family.

We have a couple months left of our school year. The children are working very hard to get their school work completed.

Another week in Sisapon. We love this family and have enjoyed this time to build a strong relationship with them. They have 7 children and this is their youngest son, Kim San. He is very talented in music and enjoys speaking English.

Building a brick wall behind the house.

Our beautiful daughters at our friends wedding. Our Crossfit coach, Bryce and his wife were married at a local resort. close to our home. Because Bryce is American we enjoyed our first foreigner wedding here in Cambodia. Such a special evening with fellow friends and missionaries here in Battambang.

Our good friend Rith invited us to go to Samlout with him. Samlout is located on Angelina Jolies (movie star) property here in Battambang. She has a big organization here that clears landmines left over from the war,  programs set up for the impoverished families and protects large areas of land from being illegally logged. She allows the locals to enjoy time on her property.
We drove our motos two hours to Samlout. Here we are stopping to get fish and chicken for our picnic lunch.

We really enjoyed this day. The water and the weather was beautiful! We took the motos down the mountain one by one to this beautiful little water oasis.

We hung up our hammocks and enjoyed relaxing in the shade.

A few beautiful waterfalls to enjoy jumping from.

Pastor Rambo went with us as well. He was born in a refugee camp after the Khmer Rouge. It is said that he was so big when he was born that the French nurse named him Rambo. It wasn't until years later that he found out who Rambo was. He is a new friend of ours, but we already know he is a strong man of God. We enjoyed the day with him.

As fresh and yummy as it looks.

We thourally enjoyed this beautiful day.

Another week in Sisapon. Lots of tiles to pick out for the house and paint choices to choose.
Always yummy dinners. We have all adjusted to what you might think is "different" in the picture above. Truly the food is always good. :)

Family day at the nearby resort was enjoyed by the Filbrun boys.

Gods answer to prayer! Our new school books have arrived in Phnom Penh! This is a picture that our friend David took. He is sending them to Battambang soon. Thankyou to everyone who prayed with us for these books to arrive safely.

The abandoned airport in Battambang is a wonderful place to have dinner. We enjoyed picking up street food and sharing a evening with our friend.

Prohut, bread and corn. It truly is so yummy.

Our friend who sells ice cream. We met him at a local hotel a year or so ago. He has came to our home a couple times to enjoy dinner.

Her little life is harder then you might imagine. Usually we only get a little tiny smile.

Eating sugar cane in church. Sticky and dirty and come as you are :)

Thankyou everyone for your love and support!
