Hi friends and family. This will be a quick blog post this month as we just did an update a couple weeks ago. We always hope this finds everyone doing well. Please feel free to reach out to us at any time. We send our gratitude to the ones who have reached out in support over our recent news. Also a big thank you to everyone who continually prays and supports our family. We are always so grateful!
Here we are at the local market buying specific gifts for our financial donors. As we prepare to come to the States, it is important to make a plan to meet each of our supporters and thank them in person.
A few pictures from our Siem Reap trip that we talked about in our previous blog.
Enjoying a walk around the wake park with our friend Noah
We are very excited that Siem Reap has some familiar restaurants. A huge exciting benefit for our family.
We enjoyed spending time at ICF, and planning for our work there in the future.
Gracie and one of her new sweet friends, Rebecca.
Enjoying using the rest of our stuff in our cabinets over the past few weeks. A leftover can of cherry pie filling calls for cherry pie bars.
One morning Britton met with several pastors in Banteay Meanchay. They shared a time of fellowship as well as a time for vision planning for their province.
Our favorite Khmer breakfast.
Printing off pamphlets to give out in the States.
Our last Sunday in Svey Kong. Over three years of friendship makes this very bittersweet. We are glad they are doing well and thriving. We will always pray for our Svey Kong church family when we think of them.
Little Soak Na has touched each of our hearts. She enjoys going from one family member to the next. Just a few smiles from her but we know she is happy and taken care of.
Our family took the Svey Kong youth along with the Pastor and his wife out for a farewell dinner.
Hair leftover on the chicken probably means the chicken was freshly killed.
Gracie celebrated her 17th birthday on January 23rd. We cannot believe how fast time has gone!
Birthday flowers from her Daddy.
Our dear friend joined us for her birthday dinner. Saying goodbyes is a bit easier knowing that Lord willing we will be back in Cambodia soon.
One of our favorite meals to make here along with a few tablespoons of Khmer fish sauce.
Dinner with a side of worm pills.
We are starting to pack up our home. Donations all ready for a few local villages.
Our children were very happy to complete their school year. Each of them did very well despite the challenges of homeschooling in a foreign country. Now for an extended summer break in America.
We celebrated by taking a bike ride to our favorite mountain and finishing the day with a yummy icecream dessert.
Britton and one of his best village friends.
One last day trip with our Sisaphon church family.
Dried snake, water lilly seeds and dried seaweed were a few of the snacks for the day.
We love and care about each one of these people. We will miss them for sure.
Homemade shakes make up for infected eyes and boils after swimming in dirty water on our day trip.
Another day out in the village. Heading out to call people to come and worship together.
Stone idols are everywhere.
Finishing off with a meal together.
Our time in Cambodia over the past two years have been difficult but good. Our first two years in Cambodia were often spent in survival mode. Everything was new and hard and brought many challenges. These past two years we have found ourselves integrating even more into the culture. The past seven months have been spent in a town where there are no other foreigners or even western restaurants. But through it all God has been quite faithful and we are honored to have went through what he had for us here.
The next time we write a blog post will surly be from the States. Please pray for our family as we make the 30 hour journey across the ocean and back into the arms of our family. We cannot wait to eat any dairy product or eat at any fast food restaurant. Our earthly homeland is calling and we simply cannot wait to touch foot on American soil again.
All praise, honor and glory goes to our Lord Jesus Christ. Without Him we are nothing. With Him we have a purpose and a calling. We have hope, peace and joy that withstands whatever trials are sent our way.
