Back in Cambodia July 2022

Hello friends, family and loved ones! Hello from Cambodia welcome back to our blog. We enjoyed taking a much needed social media break in the States, putting our phones down and just enjoying time in the present with our family without the pressure of taking pictures. We are sure you understand, but needless to say we are happy to be back on our blog and back to our regular monthly blog posting.

We want to take this time to THANK everyone who loved on our family while we were in the States. We feel so blessed by all our dear family and friends for taking such good care of us. Our family is feeling very refreshed mentally. We thank God for His constant protection and care over our family while we were in the States and during our travels back to Cambodia.

We applied for our visas before we left and we were waiting anxiously for their arrival in the mail. A couple days before we left they arrived and we were quite overjoyed.

On June 29th, after our goodbye to family and friends, we began the five hour trek to Chicago where we would depart for Cambodia. Little did we know that Delta had changed our flight several times ending with tickets that had us in South Korea over 24 hours. And because you can't be in Korea over 24 hours without a covid test our passports were flagged. A kind lady at the counter was on the phone with Delta costumer service for four hours trying to figure it out. During that time we missed our flight. We were quite shocked to say the least. We were able to get a new flight but not until July 6.

After a bit of confusion and frustration we decided to get a hotel room for the night and head back to Ohio in the morning. When we arrived at the hotel we got word that Brittons special Grandpa had passed away. Britton was very thankful God kept him home so he could attend at least the viewing and process his Grandpas passing with his family.

So after several days in Ohio again, we headed back to Chicago and made it back to Cambodia without a hiccup. We thank God for taking good care of us and for letting our second try go well.

We landed in Phnom Penh very eager to see our special Khmer brother, David. We stayed a night in the city before we headed 6 hours north to Siem Reap.

We missed eating Khmer food.

We have officially moved into our new home in Siem Reap. We thank God again for His provision and strength as we cleaned and unpacked our new home. All of our children have been sick with covid and fever so we have been taking it very slow these past few days. Besides the sickness we are feeling settled at least in our home.

We love and appreciate each one of you. We will begin our monthly updates once again here on this blog so be on the lookout for those. As always we covet your prayers for health and safety as we serve Jesus here in Cambodia. May all the glory go to Him.
