August Update From the Filbrun Family 2023

Hello friends and family! August is nearly over and September is almost upon us. Our departure for America is very soon. Our family is enjoying the last days living here in Cambodia. We are spending a lot of quality time with our friends as well as finishing up our work here at ICF. This is a very bittersweet experience for us. We are grateful for Gods mighty hand, we know He is faithful and He will not leave us no matter where we serve Him in this world.

Lots of last meetings and organizing for the ones who will take our place.

Waiting on our green tea order.

Our dear friends and fellow missionaries from the Congo came to visit our family this month. We have known Papy and Nasta since we met them in Phnom Penh five years ago. They are a blessing to our family.

Enjoying Khmer food along the river and taking a stroll through Pub street

They came to serve with us at Church on Sunday which was very kind of them.

Adult Khmer service

Early morning meetings with co workers and friends. It has been so fun to have an espresso machine in the office. Everyone enjoys making coffees for each other

We bought this giant painting, or rather we met with a painter and had him paint a giant picture of Cambodia for us. Before we rolled it up to go in the suitcase we signed the back and enjoyed writing some memories we could think of. We will enjoy having this framed in America and hung in our home to remember this beautiful chapter in our life.

Its been fun to have the older three kids join us in the gym this month.

Savanna and her dear friend Ayu. They painted old jars and set up a little stand to sell them.

Supper date with our good friends Eddie and Bethany. They are leaders within ICF and have welcomed our family with open arms.

A few co workers at our monthly "cheers" event, especially for ICF expats.

Britton was in Phnom Penh for a few days. He enjoyed introducing David to Ethiopian food.

Found some lasagna noodles so we enjoyed making some lasagna for Brittons birthday week.

We had dinner with our dear friends and they brought us this picture. Srey Pich sewed this together with a bunch of ladies in Battambang. What a special gift!

Coffee shop meetings with special pastors and leaders

Spending time with Jesus in a coffee shop.

Washing and packing all of our tubs. We found this sticker from five years ago when we went through Qatar on our way to Cambodia for the first time with our family.

First six boxes packed.
